Assessment
HTS performs a thorough review of project documents, design information, system selections, and project scheduling to ensure a keen understanding of design intent for the new facility. We meet with facility leadership and department staff to better understand their perspective and concerns.
HTS believes in the Project Management approach and the importance of building strong relationships with the client as we bring buildings to life.
Project Management
Our project delivery cadence and project plan allow leadership to focus on the right tasks, at the right time. Using our ‘effective worrying’ philosophy we break down the overwhelming amount of work into bite-size pieces, allowing your team to manage competing priorities. Your success is our success and is dependent upon a collaborative partnership that considers your unique culture and project goals.
Workflow & Operational Planning
HTS understands that transition begins early in the process when the department is functionally programming its spaces. Our team will analyze your documents for design intent then build from this starting point to ensure that your work efforts are interwoven into the overall transition, activation, and move.
HTS brings valuable design information and lessons learned from previous activation work with healthcare facilities to create a balance of form and functionality in a new work environment.
Our training models teach a wide range of people by involving internal resources to scale training delivery.
Orientation & Training
HTS will partner with the Education Team, department leadership, and the project team to develop the content and training materials needed for Fire Life & Safety, Department-Specific Orientation and Training, Physician Orientation, and other identified Orientation and Training needs.
“[HTS was] absolutely outstanding and helped to prepare for a flawless move with confident staff and physicians, and VERY happy patients and families.”
Mona Sonnenshein, former Chief Operating Officer
University of Chicago Medical Center
Licensing & Regulatory Preparation
Our goal is to prepare your organization for the complex licensing, regulatory compliance, and accreditation requirements needed to successfully operate a new inpatient, outpatient, cancer center, and behavioral health facility. HTS supports this process through onsite mock surveys and a licensing plan that incorporates key dates with the activation schedule. Our licensing tools have been developed by HTS and are customized to meet the unique needs of your organization.
The HTS Transition Planning Team has facilitated over 450 Day in the Life Simulations at healthcare facilities across the U.S. and Canada.
Day in the Life
The Day in the Life is a simulation-based testing event designed to prepare clinical staff to deliver safe and effective patient care in a new facility. These events are used to facilitate change management that has to occur in a new healthcare facility. HTS collaborates with your team to build Day in the Life Scenarios. These scenarios guide the staff as they test their developed workflows with their clinical ancillary and support services.
Building Load & Logistics
To prepare for the activation of a building, HTS collaborates with the Hospital Sponsors, Vendors, and others to develop an integrated Building Load Schedule. It incorporates significant activities and milestones from construction, medical equipment, furniture, training, licensing, special events, and other activities that have an impact on the occupancy. Our team of experts provide oversight and direction to various team to ensure a successful relocation.
HTS Building Load and Logistics streamlines the delivery and installation throughout the activation process to ensure that your space is ready for training, certification, and go-live.
Move
HTS facilitates Move with our team of clinical experts trained in hospital protocols for a safe and efficient patient move, including those in the most complex situations. Our team coordinates mock patient moves to ensure the details of the move process have been thoroughly considered, timed and practiced. Detailed move plans are created to guide your staff and physicians, ensuring a well orchestrated move.
